Nature: Donations to First Responders
City: Oak Orchard & Long Neck Fire Stations
On Thursday afternoon, April 30th, the Baptist Lighthouse Church and the Bay City Homeowners Association chaperoned the procurement and development of care packages for the “frontline responders” in our immediate area. These organizations wanted to help out in their own way during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As you may be aware, first responders around the world are on the frontlines of the COVID-19 outbreak. Many responders – including healthcare workers, EMTs and paramedics, firefighters, police officers, corrections officers, dispatchers and local government officials – have become exposed and fallen ill while serving their chosen communities. As responders continue to serve and take care of patients, neighbors, friends, family member and others - many organizations and charities are raising money and or materials and supplies for those directly affected by COVID-19.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was presented with some of these care packages which included materials and supplies for sanitizing and disinfecting equipment on our apparatus and around the fire stations. Each station – Oak Orchard and Long Neck – was presented with these care packages.
The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is pleased that these community organizations decide to recognize our emergency first responders during these times. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to offer our thank you and utmost appreciation for these efforts. The dedication and team work of these organizations is invaluable and appreciated throughout our community.
We cannot express our gratitude and thanks enough during these times. Thank you for your assistance.
May God Bless and Be Safe!
