Nature: Vehicle Accident
Location: Long Neck Rd and Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966
On Thursday evening, March 12, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Long Neck Road at the Banks Road intersection. It was reported to be a multiple car incident with unknown extent of injuries.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Command 80 from the Oak Orchard area and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck area as well as the Delaware State Fire Police, local emergency medical services, and a Millsboro EMS unit.
Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, traffic control, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, as well as incident stabilization and mitigation.
It appears that a Toyota Sienna mini-van, Chrysler sedan, and possibly a Chevrolet Equinox were involved in the collision at the intersection of Long Neck Road and Banks Road. The Chrysler had extensive front end damage and the Toyota suffered significant passenger side front end damage and the Chevrolet was possibly scratched on the driver side front end. Some of the vehicle’s occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observations.
The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
