Nature: Ladies Auxiliary Donates to Indian River VFC

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has been an essential part of the company since 1954, providing support and assistance in every way possible. The auxiliary’s main purpose is to coordinate fundraising events to help financially support the maintenance, equipment, gear costs and other operating costs of the fire company.

This fiscal year, the Ladies auxiliary of the Indian River contributed approximately $17,000 to the fire company in the following manner:  (1) construction reserve of $5,000 for the construction &/or expansion of our Long Neck facility; (2) pension fund reserve of $5,000 for volunteers; and (3) refurbishment reserve of $7,000 of the Oak Orchard facility floors in the kitchen, hallway, and pantry areas.

The flooring refurbishment reserve for the Oak Orchard facility was recently utilized to fully renovate the surface area of the kitchen, hallways, pantry, and dishwashing room floors.  The designated flooring contractor firm was Slide-Lok of Harbeson, Delaware.  These flooring renovations are being completed prior to the commencement of the buffet breakfast and chicken & dumpling dinner season.
