Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Sunday March 1^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Harris Teeter.  It was reported to be a two vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 and Chief 80-15 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments were to coordinated traffic control with lane restrictions, assistance with patient stabilization if needed and incident mitigation.  Engine #80-1 was cancelled while responding to the incident location.

It appears that a maroon Honda Accord was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway and was struck in the rear by a Mercury sedan causing damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
