Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Entrapment

On Thursday evening, February 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Highway and Mount Joy Road. It was a two vehicle collision with reported entrapment.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. The local emergency medical services provider addressed any injuries associated with the vehicle occupants.
Emergency response crew assignments initially requested a door pop situation, vehicle stabilization, traffic control, debris and fluid recovery as well as incident mitigation.
It appears that a maroon KIA sedan and Ford F150 Pick Up collided at the intersection blocking traffic lanes for westbound John J. Williams Highway and Mount Joy Road.
The Delaware Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
