Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: 27174 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Thursday, February 13^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the area of Indian Summer Village.  It was reported to involve a pedestrian.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, scene preservation, and assistance where needed.  The assistance of the Delaware Department of Transportation was requested to assist with closure of the roadway as well as deployment of arrow boards.

It appears that a vehicle was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and was involved in an accident with a pedestrian.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated initial traffic control measures closing a segment of John J. Williams Highway.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
