Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Thursday afternoon, May 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a multiple vehicle collision at or near the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and entrance way to the Trading Post Shopping Center.

It appears that grey Mercury SUV and blue Mercury Sable type vehicle collided while attempting to access to and from or through the shopping center intersection. The grey Mercury suffered driver side door damage while the Mercury Sable sedan suffered front-end damage from the incident.

Captain Steven Hawkins coordinated the emergency response resources to evaluate and provide patient care pending the arrival of the pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS); to stabilize and secure the vehicles involved in the collision; to mitigate any fluid recovery associated with the collision; and to coordinate traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
