Nature: Structure Fire

Location: Cedar Lane

 

During Sunday evening hours of April 15th, the Indian River (80), Georgetown (77), and Millsboro (83) volunteer fire companies were alerted for a working residential structure fire on Cedar Lane near Cabbage Corner outside of Georgetown, Delaware.

Georgetown’s Incident Command arrived on scene and reported heavy fire showing from a residential bi-level structure with the propane tanks venting at the current time.

Incident Command requested an additional tanker and full company assist out of Milton (85).

Indian River’s emergency response included Engine #80-1 and Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility. Indian River’s emergency response personnel were required to report to the manpower pool while apparatus was requested to participate in a water supply and water shuttle operation.

There were no civilian or firefighter injuries.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.

Georgetown House Fire Under Investigation 

The State Fire Marshal will today try to determine what sparked a fire at a home in Georgetown Sunday night.

Firemen from Georgetown, Indian River and Millsboro got the call just before 10 p.m.; arriving units found heavy fire coming from the bi-level home on Cedar Lane and the propane tanks were venting.

No one was injured in the blaze.
