Nature: Fire Police Requested to Assist Delaware State Police / Delmarva Power

Location: John J Williams Hwy, Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday evening, January 4^th, the fire police of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company were alerted to assist Delaware State Police and Delmarva Power with traffic control assistance in order to mitigate a utility hazard on John J. Williams Highway between the area of Warwick Road and Rosedale Road.  Emergency response crews were assigned to assist with traffic control, vehicle stabilization, and incident mitigation.

Traffic control assistance was tendered pending the arrival of a private traffic directional firm utilized by Delmarva Power.  Traffic patterns along John J. Williams Highway were limited during the incident until power and corrective actions were completed.  The roadway activities were completed at approximately 11 p.m.

The Delaware State Fire Police were relieved to allow the private firm continue with the assignments.
