Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS

On Tuesday, March 6th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Mount Joy Road.

It appears that gray Toyota Corolla was crossing over John J. Williams Highway onto Mount Joy Road traveling north towards Georgetown. The grey Ford Windstar Van was turning onto John J. Williams Highway from Mount Joy Road and the vehicles collided in the front.

Chief Steven Deery coordinated the emergency response resources to evaluate and provide patient care pending the arrival of the Millsboro Fire Company Emergency Medical Services (EMS); stabilize and secure the vehicles involved in the collison; mitigate any fluid recovery associated with the collison; and to coordinate traffic control for the duration of the incident.

One of the vehicles occupants were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
