Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Monday evening, November 11^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the entrance to the Pines of Long Neck near Weis Market.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility, Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included fluid and debris recovery, incident mitigation, and traffic control.

It appears that all vehicles were traveling westbound on John J. Williams Highway when there was chain reaction type collision involving a Dodge 1500 Pick-up, KIA sedan, and Honda SUV.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated the traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.  This section of John J. Williams Highway was closed for the duration of the incident. 

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
