Nature: Structure Fire

On Saturday, January 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to provide stand-by coverage for the Lewes Fire Department while they extinguished a working alarm on Pinetown Road in Pinetown.

Indian River’s emergency response unit was Engine #80-3 to provide assistance at Station #2 near Nassau outside of Lewes, Delaware.

At 19:24 Lewes, assisted by Milton, Rehoboth Beach FD's and Medic 104 were dispatched to a working structure fire on Pinetown Road. First arriving units reported heavy fire. OIC Walt Reynolds Jr. directed the scene and called for an aggressive attack, which was made by the first arriving units. The scene was brought under control at 20:03. One victim was transported to BMC. The structure was heavily damaged and the Delaware State Fire Marshall's office is investigating.

Crews from Lewes, Milton and Rehoboth Beach were called for a structure fire just before 7:30 Saturday night on Pinetown Road west of Lewes.

Crews arriving on the scene found fire showing and had the blaze under control around 8 p.m.

The State Fire Marshal is investigating.
