Early Saturday morning of January 21st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a motor vehicle collision on John J. Williams Highway immediately prior to Legion Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle into a telephone pole.

Indian River's Duty Officer Brian Morley coordinated the incident response which included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility. Emergency response personnel were requested to stabilize the vehicle and the Delaware State Fire Police were required to coordinate traffic control during the incident.

It appears that a white Ford Mustang 5.0 convertible was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway for an unknown reason striking the utility pole.

The occupants of the vehicle were transported to nearby medical facilities for additional observation by the local emergency service provider.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.

UPDATE: Minor Injuries in Long Neck Crash

UPDATED STORY: Delaware State Police are investigating a single car crash this morning on Route 24 near Legion Road in Long Neck.

Police say a Ford Mustang driven by James Cintron was eastbound on Route 24 around 1:30 a.m., when for an unknown reason, the car ran off the road and hit a utility pole.

Cintron was taken to Beebe Hospital with minor injuries.

Delaware State Police are investigating a single car crash this morning on Route 24 near Legion Road in Long Neck.

Police say the Ford Mustang was eastbound on Route 24 around 1:30 a.m., when for an unknown reason, the car ran off the road and hit a utility pole.

According to the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the occupants were taken to nearby medical facilities for observation; no word yet on their identities or injuries, if any.
