Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: Hollymount Rd and John J Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday afternoon, October 30^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway at the intersection of Hollymount Road.  It was originally reported as a property damage incident but upgraded to included fire company, ambulance, and fire police response.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility and Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, fluid and debris recovery, and overall incident mitigation activities.

It appears that a black Chevrolet Pick Up and white Toyota SUV collided at the intersection causing significant damage to both vehicles.  The Toyota sustained extensive left front end damage and the Chevrolet sustained extensive rear damage included dislodging the rear axles.  All vehicle occupants refused additional medical services.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident which did require the closure of John J. Williams Highway for a period.

The Delaware State Police Are investigating.
