Nature: Vehicle Accident

On Wednesday – January 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle accident at the intersection of John J. Williams Highway and Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be a two vehicle collision with one vehicle in the roadway.

The incident synopsis indicates that the Dodge RAM 1500 pick up was traveling east on John J. Williams Highway and the Oldsmobile Alero was traveling south from Mount Joy Road onto Oak Orchard Road when the collision occurred.

Emergency response units included Rescue 80 for the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck facility.

All emergency response personnel were to coordinate and assist with patient stabilization, vehicle stabilization, vehicle fluid stabilization, scene assessment and traffic control measures for the duration of the incident.

The local emergency medical service (EMS) provider performed various patient observation measures.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control activities along John J. Williams Highway for the duration of incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
