Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 26566 Bay Farm Rd., Millsboro

Early Monday morning, October 14^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Bay Farm Road near the entrance to William Ritter Manor.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. 

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, assistance with patient stabilization if needed, traffic control, debris and fluid recovery, as well as overall incident mitigation tasks.

It appears that a small KIA compact sedan was traveling on Bay Farm Road and had left the roadway for an unknown reason striking an electric supply box and knocking it over.  The electrical service to the area was out for the duration of the incident to allow Delaware Electric Cooperative to evaluate the damage and make the necessary repairs.

The operator of the vehicle refused medical attention.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
