Nature: Woods Fire

Location: Wooded Area Behind 32789 Captains Way Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Monday morning, October 7^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a woods fire on Captains Way in the Captains Grant development off Oak Orchard Road.  It was reported to be woods and brush fire behind the structures on Captains Way.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Brush #80-0 and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included fire suppression utilizing water, fire suppressants (wet water), rakes, etc.   Engine #80-3 provided a water supply to Brush #80-0 during the process.

It appears that a neighbor to the incident location notified the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center of woods and brush fire behind the adjacent property address.  Upon arrival of the emergency response units, it was identified that a wood storage pile, brush, and undergrowth was involved.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.
