Nature: National Fallen Firefighter’s Foundation Event

Location: Dover Downs International Speedway, Dover, DE 

 

On Sunday, October 5, 2019, the Indian River (80), Ellendale (75), and Cheswold (43) fire companies were representing Delaware as well as Huntington and Sudlersville fire companies representing Maryland gathered at the Dover Downs International Speedway to assist with the National Fallen Firefighter’s (NFFF) Event.

These units were utilized to transport families of fallen firefighters around the Monster Mile during the pre-race activities while the Washington, DC Pipe and Drums played.

The day’s activities included breakfast, opening remarks by National Fallen Firefighters Foundation & Dover Downs Officials, Fire Hero Family Recognitions, driver appearances and autographs, lunch, trackside tours and access to the front stretch of the track, door prizes, opportunities to acquire memorabilia, tours of the trackside fire house and prehospital facilities, garage areas, and others.
