Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: 25920 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Wednesday, October 2^nd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Wawa.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Ladder 80 and Incident Command 80 as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, patient stabilization if needed, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control and overall incident mitigation efforts. 

It appears that a blue Saturn compact car and a white Ford compact car collided on John J. Williams Highway near the entrances to Wawa and McDonalds.  It was reported that two persons were transported to nearby medical facilities for minor injuries by the local emergency medical service providers.  The canine occupant of one vehicle was retained pending the arrival of relatives to retrieve the pet.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
