Nature: Chicken House

Location: 26794 Hollyville Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966

On Friday, September 27^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Millsboro (83) Fire Company with a chicken house fire off Hollyville Road. 

Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included establishing and maintaining a manpower pool and a back-up water supply source.

Upon arrival, the Office in Charge (OIC) found a heavy smoke condition from the eaves and roof line of the chicken house.  The incident was believed to be in the roof line above the ceiling of the chicken house.

The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
