Tuesday November, 29 2011 Reading Equipment & Distribution Center Bowmansville, PA On Tuesday, November 29th, various committee members of Indian River’s Utility Apparatus Committee attended the Reading Equipment & Distribution Center in Bowmansville, Pennsylvania. This trip was to evaluate and inspect the new utility conversion body for the 2011 Ford F-350 Utility Truck that will function as a Marine Response Unit and a Wildland Fire Response Unit for our Polaris All Terrain Vehicle. The Utility Apparatus Committee reviewed the utility body design specifications; emergency lighting specification, location determination and installation requirements; interior console configuration; radio antenna installation, etc. The anticipated utility body includes multiple closets and storage compartments as well as a transverse compartment accessible from both sides of the utility body, remote control and manual locking devices, interior compartment lighting, exterior vehicle ground lighting, Whelen emergency lighting packages, and Motorola radio communication devices. Illustrated herewith are various photographs of the utility body and related facilities. Anticipated manufacturer completion date is December 16, 2011.
