Nature: Vehicle Accident

Location: ITAO - 28240 John J Williams Hwy Millsboro, DE 19966

On Saturday afternoon, August 31^st, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway between William Street Road and Warwick Road.  It was reported to be a two-vehicle collision.

Emergency units from Indian River included Command 80 and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility.  The Delaware State Fire Police and the local emergency medical responders were alerted for the incident.

Emergency response crew assignments included vehicle stabilization, fluid and debris recovery, traffic control, patient stabilization, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a white Ford Explorer was attempting to turn left on a private roadway and struck from behind by a silver GMC SUV causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

The Delaware State Fire Police were requested to close John J. Williams Highway between Warwick Road and William Street Road.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
