Nature: Indian River Authorizes New Radio Tower
Location: Banks Road – Station #2
City: Long Neck, Sussex County, DE
Early this Calendar Year 2019, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company has collaborated with a few commercial entities to remove the existing radio town at our Station #2 (Banks Road) location and install a more modern, up-to-date, and commercial radio tower to benefit the emergency services as well as many others in this section of Sussex County.
This past week, August 26, these replacement efforts have commenced.
The current radio tower was erected in late 2005 and early 2006 to aid in radio communications with our 400 megahertz local radio band and other devices.
