Delaware State police conducting death investigation in Millsboro

August 24, 2019

Story Location: Paleo Way, Millsboro, DE  19966

The Delaware State Police with assistance from the DNREC Division of Fish and Wildlife are conducting a death investigation in the area of Paleo Way in Millsboro.

At about 1:37 p.m., Aug. 24, troopers responded to a residence in the 17000 block of Paleo Way in reference to an unresponsive 71-year-old male. The victim was on his boat that was docked at a private marina in the rear of his residence, along the Indian River. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding EMS personnel.

The Delaware Division of Forensic Science was contacted to remove the victim and to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death. Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.

No foul play is suspected.

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company did respond for the initial incident alert and subsequently provided manpower assistance during this incident.
