Wednesday October, 19 2011 @ 12:49:32 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: Mount Joy Rd and Cannon Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday afternoon, October 19th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident located on Mount Joy Road in the vicinity of Cannon Road. It was reported to be a two car collision. It appears that a dark blue Subaru sports utility vehicle pulling a utility trailer was struck by a silver Nissan Altima sedan on the southbound lane of Mount Joy Road approaching the Cannon Road intersection. The dark blue Subaru was traveling north on Mount Joy Road and the Nissan Altima was traveling south on Mount Joy Road. The Subaru apparently lost control for an unknown reason and slid counter-clockwise allowing the Nissan to hit the passenger side compartment. There were no significant injuries associated with the incident. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company emergency response units were apprised of the incident synopsis with minor injuries, if any. Indian River emergency response units were limited to Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility. All units were required to evaluate vehicle stabilization and fluid recovery concerns, if any. The Delaware State Fire Police assisted with traffic control for the duration of the incident and the Delaware State Police are investigating.
