Saturday October, 15 2011 @ 11:23:26 Nature: Address: 35219 - 35229 Seagrass Plantation, Dagsboro, DE 19939 On Saturday afternoon, October 15th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist Millville Fire Company (Station #84) on a water rescue with vessel occupants reported in the water near or in the area. The location of the incident was in the vicinity of Seagrass Plantation, Indian River Acres on the southern shores of the Indian River Bay. Emergency response units from Millville Fire Company, Bethany Beach (Station #70); and Indian River were dispatched with specific requests for marine units. Indian River units responded to the Gull Point pending notification to launch. The various incident reports indicated that two persons were in the water and were making their way to the shore and attempting to recover items from the vessel of concern. The United States Coast Guard from Indian River were notified of the situation and all units were permitted to return to the station.
