Friday October, 14 2011 @ 08:24:00 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Address: John J Williams Hwy & Warwick Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday morning, October 14th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Warwick Road. It was reported to be a single vehicle colliding with a utility pole and the utility pole was severed in half. It was not reported to be any occupant entrapment. Emergency response units included the Duty Officer via Incident Command Unit; Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard location; Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck location and Millsboro Fire Company ambulance from Millsboro; the Delaware State Police, and the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response personnel were assigned to coordinate traffic control measures; vehicle stabilization and assist with vehicle occupant stabilization, if needed. Traffic along John J. Williams Highway was limited to one lane for the duration of the incident. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
