Sunday October, 9 2011 Nature: Vehicle Fire Address: 31743 Bridge Dr., River Village, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, October 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle fire on Bridge Drive in the River Village development off of Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to be a medium size 4 door sedan with engine compartment fully involved with exposures to fall foliage and debris. Emergency response units include Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80 from our Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 from our Long Neck facility. Engine #80-1 was assigned to initiate a fire suppression attack to quickly address the vehicle fire incident. All other units were assigned to coordinate ancillary support activities. It appears that the vehicle was recently driven; however, unoccupied and not engine running at the time of the fire. The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and observer awareness measures.
