Nature: Vehicle Accident w/Medics

Location: John J Williams Hwy and Her Millsboro, DE 19966

Early Thursday morning, July 18^th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on John J. Williams Highway in the vicinity of Banks Road across from the Verizon Building.  It was reported to be a single vehicle into the pond area and the occupants inability to extricate safely.

Emergency response units from Indian River included Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-1 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police.

Emergency response crew assignments included traffic control, assistance with occupant removal from the vehicle if needed, and overall incident mitigation.

It appears that a brown Mercedes Benz SUV was traveling on John J. Williams Highway and left the roadway for an unknown reason running into a small pond at the east most portion of the golf course. 

The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control for the duration of the incident.

The Delaware State Police are investigating.
