Sunday, September 18, 2011 Firefighter’s Funeral Arrangements – Donald M. Gant Donald M. Gant, a volunteer firefighter of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company passed away on Saturday, September 17th, 2011. Don was 44 years. Don served as an Active firefighter of the fire company for the past 3.5 years. Don has a total 14.5 years in the fire service from New Jersey and Delaware. Don’s previous firefighter experience in New Jersey included Rescue Truck Captain with the Carney’s Point Fire Rescue and firefighter with the Deepwater Fire Company. Don was employed with the Christiana Care Health Systems as a Critical Care Transportation Coordinator. A full Firemen’s Funeral will be coordinated and conducted in joint session with the Melson’s Funeral Home of Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE on Thursday, September 22, 2011. A viewing service will commence at 11 a.m. and a Memorial Service will commence at 12 noon. A traditional firefighter’s service will be held at the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company immediately after the Memorial Service at Melson’s Funeral Home. Don will be missed by fellow firefighters and members of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, as well as his family and friends.
