Gant, a volunteer firefighter of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company passed away on Saturday, September 17th, 2011. Don was 44 years. Don served as an Active firefighter of the fire company for the past 3.5 years. Don has a total 14.5 years in the fire service from New Jersey and Delaware. Don’s previous firefighter experience in New Jersey included Rescue Truck Captain with the Carney’s Point Fire Rescue and firefighter with the Deepwater Fire Company. Don was employed with the Christiana Care Health Systems as a Critical Care Transportation Coordinator. Don will be missed by fellow firefighters and members of the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, as well as his family and friends. Additional information will be forthcoming when available.
