Nature: Residential Structure Fire
Address: 34803 Rowlock Place, Pot Nets Bayside, Millsboro, DE 19966
On Tuesday morning, September 13th, the Indian River, Millsboro and Lewes fire companies were alerted for a residential structure fire on Rowlock Place in the Pot Nets Bayside development off of Long Neck Road. The Sussex County Paramedics were also alerted for a response to this incident. The Sussex County Emergency Operation Center reported that smoke was being emitted from the rear and under the manufactured home structure.
First Assistant Chief Ryan Mock was in the development and responded to the incident and identified the smoke and heat condition and was investigating.
Emergency response units from Indian River were requested to initiate fire suppression lines to front door of the residence as well as underneath the structure. Interior crews found heavy smoke and fire on the inside of the structure and as able to quickly knock down the flames. Additional evaluation of the interior prevailed requiring positive pressure ventilations, overhaul and recovery efforts to commence.
All emergency responders were required to perform designated task to ensure fire suppression and overhaul tactics were completed.
There were no firefighter or civilian injuries associated with the incident.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.

Morning fire at Pot Nets Bayside under investigation
The cause of a fire this morning in Long Neck is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal. The fire broke out just before 11 a.m. on Rowlock Place at Pot Nets Bayside.
Fire crews from Indian River, Lewes and Millsboro found heavy smoke and heat conditions inside the home which was not occupied when the fire broke out. Fire officials say the fire began in the living room – and damage is estimated at $35,000.

NEWS RELEASE: The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a dwelling fire that occurred on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:54 AM in Pot Nets Bayside on the 34000 block of Rowlock Place in Long Neck, Delaware.
The Indian River Fire Department, assisted by the Lewes and Millsboro Fire Departments, responded to the scene. Upon arrival they encountered heavy smoke and heat conditions inside the structure.
The home was not occupied at the time of the fire. No injuries have been reported. Damages have been estimated at $35,000.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office has determined that the fire originated in the living room and the cause is still under investigation.
