Sunday September, 11 2011 @ 13:13:29 Nature: Smoke Investigation Location: In the Area of White Caps Restaurant Address: 32740 - 32743 Oak Orchard Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, September 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a smoke investigation in the vicinity of the former White Caps Restaurant on Oak Orchard Road. It was reported to have heavy white smoke in the area. First Assistant Chief Hayden Klingler was the Apparatus Officer that coordinated the incident responses and limited units to Engine #80-1 from the Oak Orchard facility. The property owner was burning yard waste and debris from the recent Hurricane Irene. The property owner was apprised of the current burning ban restrictions and complied with the request to extinguish the fire. Indian River Volunteer Fire Company wishes to identify that the current buring ban is effective through September 30, 2011. No additional activities were needed for the incident.
