Location: Indian River Fire District

The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is attempting to increase community awareness and community support with various fire prevention initiatives such as:  preventing home fires; promoting fire safety; and conducting various outreach initiatives via educational and recreational programs.

While attempting to accomplish these objectives, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company announced in January 2019, its new Fire Prevention Coordinators – Robert Marmor and Roxanne Bammer - http://www.irvfc.com/gallery/detail/35308?ss=1.

Both Bob and Roxanne have been extremely busy thus far this calendar year taking their aspirations of enhance fire prevention awareness to the streets and in essence to needed communities within our fire district.  To date, many hours has been spent hosting and attending community events promoting fire safety and targeting specific developments going door-to-door offering knowledge about fire prevention, fire safety, and working smoke detectors.

Additionally, various community residents have been solicited to help develop hands-on props and other items that further promote community awareness.

For instance, Bob solicited the assistance of his brother, Kevin Marmor, a very talented construction worker to assist with the manufacture or re-design of existing props to further education children and adults by having actual simulators where participants can attempt to suppress simulated fire events in a man-made house prop and other obstacle course props encouraging fire prevention initiatives.

Secondly, a local artist was solicited to offer his service and draw and paint simulated firefighter props when participants can simulate a firefighter for photographic opportunities.

These props have been well received within the community and have been requested to offer educational awareness efforts at home-owner association meeting, church and other events.

The Indian River publishes this article to recognize the participants that have offered their services to promote fire prevention and the Indian River Volunteer Fire Co., Inc.

Illustrated herewith are various efforts that have been orchestrated thus this year:
