Saturday September, 10 2011 Nature: Chief’s Car Vandalized Location: Oak Orchard On Saturday morning, September 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is saddened to identify that it’s Chief’s Vehicle was vandalized in the Oak Orchard community during the last hours of Friday, September 9th or early morning hours of Saturday, September 10th. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company is using this example to highlight the need for heightened awareness regarding the fact that our communities have been experiencing many unfortunate incidents with vehicle theft incidents, residential theft incidents, vandalism of property, arson of residential properties, arson incidents involving vehicles, burglaries, etc. with emphasis on no specific developments. We have heard of issues in various communities including but not limited to: Pot Nets communities; Baywoods; Shores of Long Neck; River Breeze; Woodlyn Estates; Oak Orchard; Orchard Manor; Riverdale; Warwick Park; Rosedale; Gull Point and many more. It is Indian River’s intention to enhance awareness to ensure immediate and prompt notification to the Delaware State Police and/or other appropriate authorities. Please monitor your surroundings and be cognizant of your primary residential properties, your vehicles and your make sure your property is secured, properly locked and periodically checked. Illustrated herewith are various photographs of our Chief’s car. Please be cautious and monitor your surroundings and remember to report any all suspicious activity to the Delaware State Police by calling 9-1-1 or 1-800-FORCE-1-2 to report suspicious activity. Also contact your specific neighborhood crime watch program, your development’s security program, and talk with your neighbors to increase awareness.
