On Saturday afternoon, June 16th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an electrical fire at the Shore Stop on Long Neck Road. Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Long Neck location and Engine #80-3 from the Long Neck facility as well as the Delaware State Fire Police. Emergency response crew assignments included incident mitigation to ascertain the issue. Crews evaluated the interior and exterior of the commercial structure as well as the roof air handling units. Crews were able to locate water leaking into the storage room and a possible burned up refrigeration cooler motor being impacted. The Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control for the duration of the incident. The shopping center businesses were inconvenienced and temporarily closed for the duration of the incident. |
