Sunday August, 28 2011 @ 18:53:45 Nature: Gas Leak Location: In The Area Of (ITAO) Leisure Point Address: 32806 - 32921 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Sunday afternoon, August 28th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a purported gas leak situation in the vicinity of Leisure Point off of Long Neck Road. Engine #80-3 and #80-5 responded from the Long Neck Facility while Engine #80-1 and Tanker 80 responded from the Oak Orchard Facility. Command 80-10 was operated under the direction of Brian Morley. Engine #80-3 was assigned to investigate the situation at or near the guard shack entrance to Leisure Point. Engine #80-1 was assigned to investigate the shopping center complex immediately off of Long Neck Road. Tanker 80 was assigned to stage and evaluate the area of TJ White’s General Services and other business entities across from the shopping center complex. Engine #80-5 was assigned to investigate items near the boat storage complex. After much evaluation, it was determine that the odors were emitted from the Sussex County Pumping Station adjacent to the shopping center complex and beside the TJ White’s business. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center was requested to contact the “on call” representative and have them respond. All emergency response units were permitted to return to their respective stations.
