Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS
Address: 27384 - 27428 John J Williams Millsboro, DE 19966
On Wednesday evening, August 24th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company, the Sussex County Paramedics and the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit were alerted for the vehicle accident involving a motorcycle on John J. Williams Highway at Gull Point Road.
It was reported that the motorcyclist was lying in the roadway as was the motorcycle. It appears that silver Harley Davidson and a 4 door Jeep Cherokee SUV collided at the intersection with the motorcycle striking the driver’s side door area of the Jeep.
Duty Officer Brian Morley coordinated the incident operations while the Delaware State Fire Police provided traffic control coordination for the incident. It was determined by the Paramedics that the aviation unit could be discontinued.
Emergency response units from Indian River included: Rescue 80 from the Oak Orchard station and Engine #80-5 from the Long Neck Station.
The motorcyclist was transported to nearby medical facilities. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
