Thursday August, 11 2011 @ 00:09:25 Nature: Fire Nature Unknown Location: Area of 27198 Carpenter Road Address: 26749 - 26984 Carpenter Rd.,Milton, DE 19968 Early Thursday morning of August 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to assist the Milton Fire Department with an Engine & Tanker response at an incident on Carpenter Road north of Georgetown-Lewes Highway. The following others companies were also requested to assist with the overall incident Lewes Fire Department (Station #82) for a ladder company assist; Georgetown Fire Company (Station #77); Rehoboth Beach Fire Company (Station #86); and Memorial Fire Company (Station #89). Upon arrival it was determine to have a large composting operation that was involved and various ladder and master stream operations were utilized to suppress the incident. Indian River’s engine was utilized to draft from a nearby construction or sand pit and supply Ladder 82 aerial operations while Tanker 80 was utilized for its water supply and shuttle operations.
