Tuesday August, 9 2011 @ 23:13:34 Nature: Vehicle Accident ALS Address: 25169 Banks Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Tuesday evening, August 9th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident with possible occupant ejection on Banks Road in the vicinity of the sharp curves near the Winding Creek Village developments. The Sussex County advised responding emergency response units of the incident synopsis and requested the desire to utilize the Delaware State Police Aviation Unit. It appears that a dark blue pickup truck was traveling on Banks Road approaching the sharp curves and lost control for an unknown reason causing the vehicle to roll over. The occupant was out of the vehicle upon arrival of the first emergency responder therefore an ejection was not clearly identified. Emergency response units were limited to the Engine #80-5, the Delaware State Fire Police, the Sussex County Paramedics, and the Delaware State Police all other responding units were cancelled prior to arrival. The Delaware State Fire Police were required to coordinate traffic control assistance while the other emergency responders were directed to stabilize the vehicle. The Delaware State Police are investigating.
