Thursday August, 4 2011 @ 14:13:36 Nature: Vehicle Accident BLS Location: Oak Orchard Road @ Captain's Grant Address: 32300 - 32318 Oak Orchard Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Thursday, August 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a vehicle accident on Oak Orchard Road in the vicinity of the Captain’s Grant development. It was reported to be a single vehicle into the wooded area striking a tree. Emergency response personnel and apparatus responded from both stations: Rescue 80 responded from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-5 responded from the Long Neck facility. It was determined that a white utility type pickup truck was traveling on Oak Orchard Road and lost control for an unknown reason crossing the center line and traveling off of the roadway shoulder striking trees. Emergency response units were directed to provide vehicle stabilization and assist with the patient stabilization if needed. The vehicle did sustain significant front end and driver’s side damage. The Delaware State Fire Police were utilized for traffic control and the Delaware State Police are investigating.
