Story
Wednesday August, 3 2011 @ 16:33:51 Nature: Carbon Monoxide Detector Address: 32618 Long Spoon Way Millsboro, DE 19966 On Wednesday, August 3rd, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for carbon monoxide (CO) detector activation on Long Spoon Way in the Baywood development off of Long Neck Road. Emergency response units from our Long Neck Station included Engine #80-3; while the Oak Orchard Station responded with Engine #80-1 and Rescue 80. Emergency response personnel were able to access the interior of the residential structure and identified high levels of CO inside the living quarters and crawl spaces. The occupants of the residential structure were evaluated by various emergency medical personnel and refused additional medical services. The residential structure was ventilated until CO levels were within a designated safe range and the gas company was notified for a potential leakage issue. All emergency response apparatus and personnel were released for returning to the respective station quarters.
