Saturday July, 30 2011 Nature: Annual Community Day @ the Peninsula Address: Bay Farm Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Saturday afternoon of July 30th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was invited to participate in the Peninsula’s Annual Community Day held to offer appreciation between the owners and various community organizations that offer assistance to the development. The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was available to ensure awareness of the fire suppression and fire prevention activities that are offered within our respective fire district as well as providing an opportunity for the residents and children to enhance their knowledge of the local fire company. The event included an aerial piece demonstration, fire truck rides, fire apparatus and equipment review, awareness of a firefighter’s gear, etc. The overall objective of the event was to enhance awareness of the fire company, the community, the residents and overall fire company operations from a completely 100% volunteer organization.
