Monday July, 4 2011 @ 15:48:28 Nature: Automatic Fire Alarm Location: Long Neck Elementary School Address: 26064 School Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday afternoon July 4th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for an automatic fire alarm at Long Neck Elementary School on School Lane off of Long Neck Road. Emergency response units had to access the facility via the know box system. An interior and exterior evaluation of the facility was completed with specific emphasis being placed upon the kindergarten wing of the facility. It was believed to be a faulty smoke detector. Emergency response crews were not able to locate an initial responder and placed the alarm system on manual pending further notification. A representative of the Indian River School District was notified of the incident. Emergency response units included: Ladder 80, Engine #80-5, and the Delaware State Fire Police.
