Monday June, 13 2011 @ 12:23:14 Nature: Brush Fire Address: 33200 - 33217 Long Neck Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Monday afternoon, June 13th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a brush fire Long Neck Road between Grotto’s Pizza, Leisure Point and the entrance to Rehoboth Shores. The Sussex County Emergency Operations Center received numerous call and motorists stopped by the Long Neck facility to alert us of this concern. Brush #80-0 responded from the Long Neck facility while Brush #80-00; and Tanker 80 responded from the Oak Orchard facility. Brush #80-0 located the incident on the shoulder of the roadway and reduced the response to the initial brush truck assignment. This incident was at the same location as the pole fire of Thursday, June 9th and was extinguished by the employees of the Delaware Electric Coop who were working at the incident location. Brush #80-0 wet the area down with water and returned to the Long Neck facility.
