On Saturday, June 11th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for numerous incidents throughout the day which included:

(1) Residential Structure Fire - Rapid Intervention Team Assignment with assistance to Lewes Fire Company on a structure fire on Sabrina Drive in the residential developments behind Midway Shopping Center (Route #1) Lewes, Delaware.

Engine #80-1; Engine #80-3; and Rescue 80 responded with all units being diverted to stand-by or cover up assignments at Rehoboth Beach (Station #2) and Lewes (Station#2).

House Fire Behind Midway Shopping Center 10:30 a.m.

Saturday 06.11.11:

Firemen from Lewes, Rehoboth and Indian River are on the scene of a house fire on Sabrina Road, east of Route 1 and just north of Route 24.

The house is located behind Midway Shopping Center. No word yet on the severity of the fire.

First units on the scene reported light smoke coming from the house.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating.

(2) Residential Electrical Fire at the panel box of a single wide manufactured home.

Engine #80-1 and Engine #80-3 responded to evaluate and determine the origin of the incident.

The residential manufactured home’s electrical service was discontinued at the disconnect box pending the arrival of a certified electrician.

(3) Residential Appliance fire was cancelled while responding.

(4) Automatic Fire Alarm was cancelled while responding as well.
