Friday June, 10 2011 @ 18:34:12 Nature: Fire Nature Unknown Address: 28187 Layton Davis Rd Millsboro, DE 19966 On Friday, June 10th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a fire nature unknown on Layton Davis Road. It was reported via the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center that a residential property owner was burning residential construction supplies and remnants of manufactured home. Indian River’s Duty Officer – Hayden Klingler responded to the incident and determined that this synopsis was inaccurate; however, there was an inappropriate burning activity during a known period of prohibition. Engine #80-1 responded from the Oak Orchard facility and Engine #80-3 responded from the Long Neck facility. Duty Officer Klingler reduced the response to Engine #80-1 and placed the incident under control upon advising the property owner of the appropriate procedures and that a burning ban was in effect. Duty Officer Klingler requested that the fire be extinguished.
