Thursday May, 26 2011 Nature: Military Service Personnel Acknowledgement The Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the brave men and women who serve and have served in our armed forces. Their sacrifices have and will not go unnoticed. Thank you! Furthermore, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company would like to acknowledge two volunteer firefighters that have assisted us over the years by acknowledging their support and dedication as they prepare for additional military service deployments in northern Afghanistan. Sgt. Nick Adams is a volunteer with Indian River and has previous deployments in 2007 and 2008 with the 153rd MP Company in Baghdad, Iraq performing combat patrol assignments. Currently Sgt. Adams is preparing for the current deployment assignment with the 1049th Transportation Company in northern Afghanistan performing convoy security. Nick joined the volunteer fire company in November, 2004. Corporal Lou Modesto is a volunteer with Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company but jointly responds with Indian River and serves in the same platoon as Sgt. Nick Adams. Indian River extends its well wishes to all service men and women and thanks them for their service.
