On Wednesday evening, May 25th, the Indian River Volunteer Fire Company was alerted for a personal injury vehicle collision at the intersection of Hollymount & Beaver Dam Roads. It was reported to have two vehicles involved.
Upon arrival of Engines #80-1 and #80-3 from the Long Neck facility, it was determined to have a two vehicle collision involving a white Dodge Charger 4-door sedan and Toyota Sienna mini-van. It appears that both vehicles were traveling on County Road #48 (Hollymount Road) at the intersection of Beaver Dam Road and the Charger was rear-ended by the Toyota. The Charger spun around and stopped in the middle of the intersection and the Sienna continued leftwards through the intersection striking a stop on the opposite side of the roadway. All occupants requested a medical evaluation.
Duty Officer Hayden Klingler requested that the Delaware State Fire Police provide traffic control assistance while emergency response personnel were assigned to perform vehicle stabilization, patient assessment and stabilization as well as assistance with loading the patient in awaiting ambulances from the local emergency medical services provider.
The Delaware State Police are investigating.
