Nature: Structure Fire
Location: 2 Houses Down from 28669 Harmons Hill Rd Millsboro, DE 19966
Early Tuesday morning, January 29th, the Indian River (80) and Georgetown (77) fire companies were alerted to assist Millsboro (83) Fire Company with a working structure fire on Harmon’s Hill Road. This was the second working structure within the same area within six hours and within a few miles of each other. Initial reports from the Sussex County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) indicated possible occupants trapped inside.
Emergency response units from Indian River included Tanker 80 from the Oak Orchard facility as well as Engine #80-3 and Rescue 80 from the Long Neck facility.
Emergency response units arrived finding heavy fire showing from the A and D corners of the structure.
Emergency response crew assignments included assistance with fire suppression efforts and overhaul.
The Delaware State Fire Police coordinated traffic control and scene security during the operations.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office in investigating.
